Dear Fellow Sea Horse Park Members
One Day at a Time to Rebuild…
My heart goes out to everyone at the Sea Horse Park Community
Although we don’t have all of the information I did want to convey some communications at this point to know we are not alone and will do our best to take action and share. As you all know Travis our Park Manager always takes the time to share in the communications – so I am sure more will be coming from him, although the clubhouse and his office took in a few feet of water as well.
Some Post Hurricane Helene items: as many of you have seen the devastation left behind from the Hurricane due to flooding and storm surges, power outages in our Park ( check Duke Energy Website for updates). The Sea Horse Facebook Community Page for homeowners only (https://www.facebook.com/groups/seahorse ) has covered many pictures and individual stories, along with local news impacts in the area. Although not physically there yet, we have been in contact with some onsite folks – although many units are compromised , many neighbors are helping each other- removing furniture & appliances from inside, opening windows, taking videos and pictures etc.. Thank You to everyone who is helping out others as well as dealing with their own areas…
I am sharing some key items:
- We were advised that the fire department did go through the park to look for any survivors, therefore some folks doors or windows may have been breached- protocol after this type of situation
- The City garbage trucks appear to making their rounds- picking up items folks are putting at end of their driveways/ front yards ( debris, appliances etc)- so this is an option to empty units
- The Park will be arranging Walk In Bins on Site , to be able to drop XL items such as appliances, furniture etc and any debris you need to get rid of – in the next few days trying to secure ASAP – one will be on a vacant property on 8673 44th St ( Yes, homeowner provided approval) and one over by Horseshoe pit area- another option to empty units
- The Park will be hiring a company to pick up stray “Outdoor ” articles, debris etc – that is all over the park outside- that work crew will be there starting this Tuesday AM
- The Park is to be providing a contact ( name & phone #) – should you need assistance “mucking out ” the inside of your place and wish to hire someone ( cost to be determined once you contact them- based on your needs) this will be the same company that will hired to be around for outside cleanup- another option to empty units – if you cannot do yourself or are not in the park – Key holder must be available ……More to come on this
- Take extreme caution with your electrical – once power is restored: due to the flooding – concerns inside your unit and outside
The Sea Horse Park Board and the Park will be offering further communications, many folks are compromised with communications due to : power outages, no internet, cell phone towers jamming due to extremely high volumes – therefore an added challenge to sharing information and the delays, but we want you to know that we will continue to work together, as your board, park manager and as your neighbors.
Please Take Care everyone, be safe and more to come
On Behalf of your Sea Horse Park Board of Directors

Contact your insurance company as soon as possible.
Now that the storm is over, if there’s damage and you would like to make a claim with your insurance company, contact them to learn about what’s covered by your policy, your claim deadlines, all necessary forms and repair cost estimates.
Gather documents and supporting materials. Take pictures of the damage, write down what happened and exchange information if another party was involved. Also, be sure to keep all of the bills and receipts from expenses related to the incident, including medical bills and bills for repairs and rentals.
