Dear Fellow Sea Horse members

It’s been a tough week, it’s completely overwhelming…but the circle of volunteers coming through has been overwhelming: volunteers bringing in food, water, cleaning supplies, helping empty units, I cannot say enough about these kind and generous people. Brings me to tears…

  1. Please see attachment prepared to assist with contact information to distribute to our HOA. Link to Attachment: 2024-10-06-Oct-Hurricane Helene Recovery Information-Attachment
    The two biggest points:
    -Insurance contact ASAP
    -FEMA application ASAP
  2. Garbage debris removal, our current biggest and critical challenge, park wide AND the main priority for the Park, and the only discussions we are having. no secret there:

We have hired work crews to do outside garbage pick ups, yesterday they covered 9 units. Our roads are going to become impassable, please try to keep on your property, we are continuing to seek other options to a speedier removal, but availability is very difficult and costs are so high. At this point we need front loaders and dump trucks – if anyone has contacts, please let me know directly.

I would ask to please try keep vehicles off the roads to ensure we can get work crews and pick ups done and in case we need an ambulance to navigate in.

  1. I would please please please ask for support and solutions at this time, blaming, being angry at the board or park manager is not productive. We are all heartbroken , plus emotional and each of us is focused on trying to manage our own devastation, let alone the total park. In a crisis situation we need to stick together., if you need to chat with me, as president come see me, please avoid nasty email circulations, it’s not helpful in any way and takes time away on our recovery
  2. Power is restored, but you must have an electrician check before powering up.
  3. Lastly we are asking Travis to be focused on Insurance and FEMA : 2 most important items

In closing let’s continue to focus on recovery and support each other, our community should come together in a crisis situation.

Sue Pettigrew, President
Sea Horse Park board of directors
